Free ASO Tool for iOS
The free ASO research tool indie iOS devs use to find winnable keywords, grade their listing, and watch their rankings. $9.99 one-time unlock — no subscription, ever.
Every Tool You Need
From initial keyword discovery to grading your listing and finding competitor gaps — all in one place.
2.3 sharpens keyword recommendations, calms the Grade tab, and gives new users a friction-free first day with the app.
New
App Report now sections candidates by tail length — Head (1-word, usually saturated), Mid-tail (2-word, the indie sweet spot), Long-tail (3+ words, high leverage). Each gets an honest verdict instead of a blanket "saturated" label.
New
Happy with a title or subtitle and only want one field tuned? Tap the lock icon next to it. The AI optimizer returns the locked field byte-identical and rebuilds only the unlocked fields around it.
New
The optimizer can now include compound phrases in your keyword field when they add real exact-match value beyond what Apple's algorithm auto-combines from your title and subtitle.
New
When every candidate keyword is genuinely contested, the report says so plainly instead of forcing a "pure upside" pick. Differentiation advice when the keywords aren't winnable.
Improved
Compound Keywords and AI Keyword Suggestions moved to sheets reached via small entry rows. Competitor Intelligence is now collapsible. Every feature still one tap away — just less to scroll.
Improved
Daily free keyword searches raised. New installs see no Pro upsell cards for their first 24 hours — explore the free tier without nudges, decide on Pro when you're ready.

Keyword Scout is a native iOS app for App Store keyword research and ASO. Type any keyword and get a difficulty and saturation score in seconds, see the apps competing for it, grade your own listing, and watch how your rankings change over time. Built for indie iOS developers.
Free to download and use. Pro features unlock with a one-time $9.99 purchase — no subscription, no recurring fees. Free tier includes 5 keyword searches per day; Pro is unlimited and adds bulk keyword scoring, 175-country market comparison, listing optimizer, and competitor intelligence.
Yes. The core keyword research is free — score any App Store keyword for difficulty and saturation, see top competitors, and read related keyword suggestions, all without paying. Free tier is rate-limited to 5 searches per day. Pro removes the limit and adds advanced features for a one-time $9.99 unlock.
Three differences. First, Keyword Scout runs natively on iPhone and iPad — every other ASO tool is web-only or Mac-only. Second, pricing is one-time $9.99 instead of monthly subscription ($24-100/month). Third, the audience is indie iOS developers, not enterprise marketing teams, so the workflow is designed for solo builders doing their own research.
Yes. Keyword Scout is built natively for iPhone and iPad. Most ASO tools require sitting at a desktop or signing into a web dashboard, but Keyword Scout lets you research keywords, grade your listing, and check competitor rankings directly from your phone — useful when ideas hit between meetings.
No account required. No email, no sign-up. All your data — saved keywords, tracked apps, ranking history — stays on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is sent to any server.
Difficulty measures how strong the top-ranking apps are for a keyword — based on review counts and ratings. A high difficulty means established apps dominate and ranking against them is hard. Saturation measures how many apps already use the keyword in their title or subtitle. High saturation means the keyword is structurally claimed; low saturation means the space is open even if difficulty is high.
All 175+ App Store markets. Pro users can compare keyword performance across any country, helping find markets where a keyword has lower competition or higher demand than in the US. Free users can search any single market.
Privacy
Keyword Scout was built with a simple rule: don't collect what you don't need.
Keyword Scout does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information — ever.
All data you create — saved keywords, tracked apps, ranking history — is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Keyword searches query Apple's public iTunes Search API solely to retrieve App Store data. No user identifiers are included in those requests.
No advertising frameworks, no crash reporting, no user profiling. Anonymous event counts (e.g. "a search happened") are sent via TelemetryDeck — no personal data, no identifiers. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit.
